Enterprise-Resource-Planning-System (ERP-System)
As an application program, an Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP system) supports all of a company’s tasks and processes, such as procurement, production, sales, accounting and human resources. The use of standard application software packages supports resource planning and reduces data redundancy.
Integrated software system for efficient resource planning in the ERP system
Through integration, ERP enables process-oriented organization. For example, the interface to the ERP system in the goods receipt process works as follows: Before the material is actually received, advance information is provided in the best case with the help of a so-called AVIS. This includes information such as article, quantity, storage location. A bridge to the ERP system is created via AVIS and the storage units in the goods receipt area are scanned with a laser scanner.
The advantages of integration are obvious: time savings, automation, increasing transparency and rapid provision of information.
In addition to various providers of enterprise resource planning systems, there are numerous open-source solutions. Since developing your own system requires a high level of expertise, purchasing standard software can be worthwhile despite the high acquisition costs. Although the source code of the software is not accessible, the user receives a coordinated product range and service offers from the manufacturer. In addition, in closed-source licenses, product responsibility lies with the manufacturer, which gives the user a guarantee for the quality of the system.
