Stutensee, 13.07.2020. PhD expert for processes in intralogistics and production adds valuable industry-specific experience to the company.

Meike Braun, who holds a doctorate in engineering, has been working as a project manager for TUP since July 1, 2020, supervising ongoing intralogistics projects in large enterprises.

As head of innovation at a leading manufacturer of stacker cranes and materials handling systems, her primary tasks were to optimize existing processes and to implement new ideas with a subordinate team. The spectrum ranged from new and further development of the product range to production and material flow optimization in the facility.

During her diploma and as a employee of the Institute for Materials Handling Technology and Logistics Systems (IFL) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) under Prof. Dr.-Ing. Kai Furmans, she focused her research on the determination of the energy demand of storage and retrieval machines. She deepened these insights in her dissertation “Development, Analysis, and Evaluation of Models for Determining the Energy Demand of Storage and Retrieval Systems”, which she successfully defended in 2016 at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
