Webshop fulfillment
From the point of view of a web shop operator, the sales process is much more complex than from the customer’s point of view. Many processes that the customer does not perceive while shopping in the web shop have to be organized and provided. This process in the background is called fulfillment.
Fulfillment includes various activities of an online provider.
- Goods-related activities
- Information-related activities
- Communication-related activities
- Financial activities
Fulfillment includes all these activities to the extent that they support the fulfillment of the services promised in the online store.

Once the order has been entered, a check is carried out to determine whether the inventory is available and the goods can be delivered. An invoice or delivery note is then created from the point at which the goods are available. A logistics company delivers the goods to the customer.
