In the presence of Stutensee Mayor Petra Becker, TUP laid the foundation stone for a new office building in Stutensee on May 24, 2022. It will create space for 80 new employees and complete the TUP campus. Vollack had realized an energy-optimized and certified office passive house as a creative workspace for TUP in the first construction phase around five years ago, which extends over around 3,600 square meters of usable space.
With the second construction phase, a two-story, partly three-story office building is being built on 1,750 square meters, which is adjacent to the existing building via a connecting building. In addition to office space, the new working environment will combine meeting and project rooms as well as technical areas and a cafeteria. Simon Thomas, CEO and owner of TUP, says, “With the new building, we are sending a clear signal of permanence at our proven location.”
The new building meets the BEG-40 standard, which places high demands on energy efficiency. An ice latent heat storage system as an intelligent storage medium for heat and cold ensures that the building is almost energy self-sufficient and independent of the existing building from an energy perspective.
Claudius Uiker, partner at Vollack Süd, explains: “We are consistently continuing the facade design of the first construction phase. As a result, the two buildings complement each other and form a harmonious unit.” This is also evident in the interior design. Here, walls made of exposed concrete with seamlessly installed wooden windows and green-colored acoustic modules set accents. Cubic functional units for archive, technical and service rooms break up the structure of the individual offices.
