High-bay warehouse

(abgek. HRL; Engl. High bay warehouse, high-bay storage facility) is a type of warehouse (Lagerart) with i. Allg. following characteristics:

  • Rack height of about twelve meters
  • Rail-mounted rack feeders
  • Silo construction
  • Mostly automatic operation

In the HRL, large heights are achieved, thus many pallets can be accommodated in a small area. This results in a high area intensity as a value for the number of pallets per square meter.
