Handling capacity
In intralogistics, handling capacity refers to the number of storage and retrieval operations per unit of time. It therefore illustrates the number of goods/containers that pass through a transshipment point in a certain period of time. This performance depends on the warehouse geometry, the operating technology used and the optimum utilization of this technology.
In order to achieve optimization, it is important to find the best possible balance between the costs of the existing storage and conveying technology and the costs of waiting times for storage orders that are not served or served too late.
The turnover rate can be differentiated into various groups. Type, article, article groups, goods type and operation. It can therefore also be considered a useful indicator of any strengths and weaknesses of the retail company.
Turnover performance in relation to the entire company is also suitable as an inter-company indicator for company comparisons.
