BITO and TUP share a long-standing, ever-evolving partnership. As part of an ERP upgrade, TUP replaced the existing warehouse management system at both production sites with a solution tailored to BITO and based on TUP. WMS. The warehouse management system not only handles the traditional storage management of finished goods but also manages and supplies raw materials for production as well as the transport of external merchandise – as part of an integrated plant-wide logistics system spanning both metal and plastic processing. Special software requirements arise from the unique nature of the product lines: The system determines the three-dimensional storage location coordinates of products with disproportionately large volumes in a matter of milliseconds and integrates them appropriately into the material flow.
